Start Diving

Let’s start from the beginning

Aquatrons Dive Centre partners teach the PADI system of diver training because no matter where you choose to dive, your PADI certification card will be recognised and accepted. In fact, on most scuba diving adventures, you’ll be surrounded by other PADI Divers who made the same certification choice you did – to train with the world’s largest and most respected scuba diving training organisation.

If you would like to start diving our partner schools offer two options to get you into the water: PADI Discover Scuba Diving or the PADI Open Water Diver Course

If you want to try scuba diving, but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is for you. IDC Scotland offers this introductory program in a swimming pool. While not a scuba certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world.

If you’ve always wanted to take scuba diving lessons, experience unparalleled adventure and see the world beneath the waves, the PADI Open Water Diver Course is where it all starts. Get your scuba diving certification with the PADI Open Water Diver Course – the world’s most popular and widely recognised scuba course. Millions of people have learned to scuba dive and gone on to discover the wonders of the aquatic world through this course. You can complete the entire course here in Scotland, or, if you are looking to go abroad to complete your training, you can enroll in the Open Water Referral program.

Let’s continue where you left off

As a certified scuba diver you’ve already experienced the thrill of exploring parts of the underwater world, but know there’s more to discover. Whether you’re looking for new dive adventures, to improve your scuba skills, or both at once, taking another PADI dive course or a Discover Local Dive session will help you gain more confidence and meet more dive buddies.

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course

In the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course you will earn two certifications for the price of one! You’ll complete 5 different Adventure dives all under the expert guidance of your PADI Instructor. No formal classroom session, just a lot of diving.

PADI Specialty Diver Courses

If you already know what type of specialty diving interests you (underwater photography, search and recovery, deep diving) then sign up for that PADI Specialty Diver course. Specialty diver courses teach you the right way to have special dive adventures, so you don’t have to learn on your own.

PADI Rescue Diver Course

Being more confident in the water is what every diver desires and the PADI Rescue Diver course will help you get there. It also teaches you to be a better buddy. During the course, you learn how to spot potential problems and quickly deal with them before they become big issues.

Scuba Review and PADI Reactivate

If you have not dived for more than six months our Dive schools partners and many other dive shops worldwide require you to refresh your dive skills. This is for the safety of the Dive Team, yourself and the other divers in the water with you.

PADI Emergency First Response Course

Emergency First Response training focuses on building confidence in lay rescuers and increasing their willingness to respond when faced with a medical emergency. Course participants learn simple to follow steps for emergency care and practice applying skills in a nonstressful learning environment. All courses are supported by self-study manuals, videos and quick reference cards to enhance learning and allow you start learning right away.

Discover Local Diving

Are you looking for buddies to go diving with? Do you want somebody else to take care of dive planning, diver safety and logistics for you? Then join us for a day on the dive site just going diving.

Go Pro

divider-ornamental

Want something more challenging?

You know the saying, “If you love what you do you’ll never work a day in your life”? If you adore diving, going pro might seem like a farfetched dream, but it may be more attainable than you think! All of PADI’s prestigious professional level certifications are available with Aquatrons Dive Centre partners.

The PADI Divemaster course is the first step in going pro and becoming a PADI Professional. The PADI Instructor Devleopment course is where you learn about teaching people how to dive and start to see how you can transform people’s lives through scuba diving. As part of your PADI Instructor training you will also become an Emergency First Response Instructor. Once you become a PADI Specialty Instructor you will be able to provide your students with in-depth information about certain dive disciplines like wreck diving or coral preservation.

The PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating denotes a very high commitment to the PADI System of diver training. As a PADI IDC Staff Instructor you can independently teach and certify PADI Assistant Instructors at PADI Five Star Dive Centers or PADI Five Star Dive Resorts and assist PADI Course Directors with the PADI Instructor Development Course.

Going pro takes dedication, but there are many options to fit your schedule. Some knowledge development sections are available online through PADI eLearning, before you complete the remainder of your course with your  PADI Professional. You can also choose to train full-time or part-time to fit in with your schedule.

More divers seek PADI Professional credentials than any other professional scuba training organization. If you’re thinking about going pro, give one of Aquatrons Dive Centre partners a call.

All equipment hired from Aquatron Dive Centre is for a 24-hour period. However if you need equipment for the weekend, we do a three-day hire at a two-day price! And if you need equipment for a full week, equipment is hired out at a five-day rate!

You must be either a certified diver or a diver in training to hire full scuba equipment (drysuits and snorkelling kit are available for hire for non-diving uses). You should personally check all hire equipment prior to use and should return the hire equipment clean and within the agreed upon time frame to ensure you are not charged any extra fees. It is against our hire terms and conditions to make any alterations or to re-configure any equipment that you have hired from us.

Whenever possible, we recommend that you reserve hire equipment to ensure availability; simply call the shop or pop in to make a reservation. Full payment is required to secure a reservation. Upon collection, a deposit of either a valid UK driver’s licence or a valid international passport is required. Your deposit will be returned to you at the time your hire equipment is returned.
